A Media Collection is a curated subset of media from your Media Library, focused on a specific breakdown element, such as a scene, a character, or a department. Media Collections are auto-generated by ProductionPro: if there’s a tag for it, there’s a Media Collection for it!

Media Collections enables you to navigate using the context of your materials. For example, you can navigate from a set rendering to the scene it is linked to, then to a specific character in that scene or to the latest pre-vis.

Opening a Media Collection

To open a Media Collection, simply click on any tag assigned to a piece of media (in the media view). The Media Collection will display media for that tag, grouped a certain way.

Default Grouping

Media Collections have default groupings, depending on the type of breakdown element. For example, Media Collections for scenes are grouped by departments by default. You can always adjust the grouping to your liking.

⚠️ The grouping type applied to a Collection can prevent some media from being displayed. For example, if you’re looking at the Media Collection for a character, and the media is grouped by scenes: media tagged with that character but not with a scene will not be included unless you adjust the grouping to another type.

Adding Media to a Collection

If you need to upload new media to a Collection, upload it to your media library first and then tag it with the corresponding tag.

Sharing a Media Collection

Just as with any other view, you can share a link to a Media Collection, so others can see exactly what you are looking at. Simply click on the link icon (in the upper right corner) to copy a link to the view, then share it where you need to.
