Granular Access Control is configured in the Web App, and its access rules are enforced everywhere, including the iPad app. This article covers what that means day to day on the iPad. If you're new to Granular Access Control, start with Introduction to Granular Access Control.

Granular Access Control is a premium add-on, enabled per production by the ProductionPro team. The behaviors described below only apply on productions where it has been enabled; if you'd like to use it on your production, contact us.

On productions using Granular Access Control, the Binder Document Library only shows documents whose Access Attributes match yours. There is nothing to configure on the iPad, since access is evaluated automatically; when your attributes or a document's attributes change, your Binder reflects it.

💡 Tip: If a document you expect to see isn't in your Binder, your attributes likely don't match it. An Admin, Master Admin, or the Production Owner can compare them in the Web App and adjust either side.

On productions using Granular Access Control, every upload requires assigning Access Attributes, which is done in the Web App. Tapping the plus (+) button in the Binder Document Library shows a Continue in the Web App message, with a button linking you there.

This ensures that every document is secured from the moment it enters the Binder.

If you have access to a Breakdown but not its Connected Script, the Breakdown still works normally; the app treats it as if there's no Connected Script. Features relying on the script (like page numbers) stay unavailable until you're granted access.

Team management, including assigning Access Attributes, happens in the Web App. Tapping Team in the iPad app's Production Settings shows a Continue in the Web App message with a button linking you there.
